The Attack of The Google Panda Update

Before you let the post title mislead you into thinking that Google trained an army of pandas to take over the internet, let me clarify. The

panda

(or farmer) update has been named after some
Google<

>
engineer who wrote this update to bring down the article farms who were providing Adsense loaded articles of low quality. Being kinda slow to do write-ups on Google Algorithm changes, as usual, I must explain how happy I am with this update.

How often have you googled something important and were eventually led to an article fully loaded with ads? And after finding a way to read through the ads, you discover that the article was not helpful at all. Google has finally brought these websites down for good. I’m not particularly talking about made for adsense websites, but I’m talking more along the lines of Ezine Articles or WiseGeek.

I’ll start by explaining my frustration with wisegeek.com. Wise geek is an informational website that contains over 50,000 articles. Apart from the traditional “how to” articles, this website targets “What is..” articles. So if you were ever searching for something like “What is a credit card?”, this website would come first.

Google Panda Update

Since the website was old, had hundreds and thousands of indexed pages, and a lot of editorial backlinks, this website had a lot of authority in the eyes of Google. The authority was so much, that the website would dominate a spot in the google top 3 rankings for almost any keyword it would target in it`s articles.

The typical article is a near 500 word, half helpful article. Along with the articles are huge Adsense blocks carefully embedded to fool the visitor for normal links. I’m a webmaster who plays with ads all the time, and I found that to be irritating. I can only imagine what the rest of the people would’ve thought about it.

Well, long story short, Google punished WiseGeek.com and other websites of the sort who were either loaded with ads or had low quality articles on them. This update was much needed and finally Google SERPs have gotten rid of big websites that added little value and were getting a lot of traffic for no reason. Webpronews published a whole list of the the winners and losers in the panda update.

To my knowledge there isn’t really any small website that has been affected by this update in terms of more search traffic or less search traffic. At least, the search traffic at my websites has remained constant and I’m glad google took this initiative to punish the big ones. To be honest, these website had it coming.

Let me know if you know of any smaller websites that have been affected by this update and why. If you’re not sure whether your website has been affected or not, then just compare your search traffic of march with February. If you see a different trend than the previous month then there is a chance that your website has been affected as well.

20 Scam-Free Ways to Make Money Online Fast

1. Amazon’s Mechanical Turk.

Mechanical Turk is a great way to make some extra cash. You probably won’t make much more than a few dollars an hour, but it’s also dead simple to complete many of the tasks. Most tasks take less than a minute to complete and pay a few pennies. If you do a lot of MTurk, it could add up to at least some fun spending money. Sign up for free, then complete qualifications to earn access to higher-paying tasks.
2. Sell stock photos.

iStockPhoto is just one site that allows you to sell stock photos; there are others. Before you decide to go crazy and upload your whole album, take note of what’s selling well and try your hand at doing something similar. iStockPhoto also works for those who know how to render images; some of their most popular images were created on a computer! Have three killer stock photos ready for iStockPhoto’s inspection; they will want them when you sign up.
3. Sell stuff on eBay.

Start by selling your own extra stuff. Then, once you get a feel for selling your extra stuff, go door-to-door in nicer neighborhoods in your town. Develop an eye for what will sell and what won’t (old laptops, for instance, could be a gold mine–if you know how to format them to get rid of the previous owner’s personal data.) Sign a contract where you take 25-30% (or more) of the gross sale. Your customers will be happy to get cash for their old junk, and you’ll make some good money selling other people’s stuff. eBay
4. Become a freelance article writer.

It may not pay well, but there is a growing demand for this. Write 200-300 word articles and submit them to article directories. Potential clients include bloggers, marketers, and small businesses. You can write articles in a niche in batches and sell them as a package to one or more clients, or you can offer your services for hire per word or article and let your client give you direction. A foundation of keyword research is important to succeed at this job (unless you’re just taking direction from a client), but keyword research is learnable.
5. Write articles for magazines or other publications.

If you have a background in journalism, or just a passion for it, you can try your hand at submitting articles to publications. Don’t just randomly fire off articles, however; have a plan and, preferably, a contact at the publication you wish to submit to. The good news is that there are publications in pretty much any niche you can think of. To see some publications that are hiring, visit Online Writing Jobs, PoeWar Freelance Jobs, and Writing.com.
6. Transcribe audio files.

An easy job; doesn’t pay well, but also a quick way to make some money. Sign up on eLance or oDesk to start, and/or advertise your services in entrepreneur forums. Requires good hearing and a good command of the English language. You may also want to invest in a foot pedal if you plan to transcribe often. Make sure you know how to transcribe interviews before you start your first job.
7. Become a virtual assistant (VA).

There are entire books written on how to become a virtual assistant, so this job is definitely worthy of more research. My advice: Focus on one niche (I just hired Lisa Morosky of VA for Bloggers, for instance.) Also, reach out to potential customers directly and let them know what you can do for them instead of hitting up freelance web sites. Finally, you may want to consider resources such as AssistU, which provides training for up-and-coming virtual assistants.
8. Write articles on eHow.com.

If you understand the basics of keyword research, you can make a good monthly income from eHow. eHow pays you a percentage of the ad revenue they make from each “How to” article you create. You can crank out a few articles a day with relative ease. Try this for a month; assuming your article titles match up with what people are searching for in Google, you can make a significant income. The great news is that you write your articles once and get paid month after month. I’ve seen figures of $100-$150/month for 30 articles. Make money writing for eHow.com.
9. Do some videos to promote affiliate products.

Enjoy making silly videos? Even short, silly videos can sell products online. Find an product worth promoting that has an affiliate program, then target your video toward potential customers of that product. In your video summary on YouTube, place your affiliate link for the product, and after the video, do a 30-second still frame showing a short URL where people can buy the product. If your video is funny, informative, or useful, you may sell some products. Big tip: Try to promote a product that makes you a fair amount of money for each sale, but doesn’t cost a whole lot for the potential customer. You can find products on Commission Junction, for one.
10. Write an ebook targeted to people who need help.

Alexis Dawes created a product called “Desperate Buyers Only”. I interview her for an upcoming case study on Inspiring Innovators, where she mentions that she is able to make up to $97 from ebooks as small as 12 pages. The key? Finding people who are incredibly desperate for the information you provide and then doing good research to find a real solution to their problems. The result? Happy customers whose problem is solved, and money for you — a win-win situation! Caveat: It may be tough to find a real desperate buyer niche (Alexis reveals some in her case study). Here are some hints: When were you last in a situation where information would have either saved you a lot of money or a lot of pain? Has someone else close to you been in a situation where they could have used information to avert pain? Think legal, medical, and financial niches.
11. Build a small niche website.

20 ways to make money online fast.
Yes, you can make money online.I run a few small niche websites. For instance, How to Convert PDF is a tiny site that has free videos on how to convert other types of documents into PDF format. It sells a piece of software called PDF Creator, and I make a few dollars every time someone buys from that site. I promoted the site using pay-per-click ads and it was profitable. Don’t copy me directly, but do find the intersection of people needing help and a tool, ebook, or software program that will help them fix their problem. Then, create a website designed to get them to buy it!
12. Help local businesses develop an online presence.

Local businesses are struggling. Many have websites, but aren’t getting any results from them. Others don’t have websites at all. You can help by learning search engine optimization, how to set up an email list, and more, and then implementing these for local businesses. If you typically hang around geeks, web marketers, or the Web 2.0 crowd, you may be surprised how many business owners are 10 years (or more) behind you! If you can deliver results, business owners will happily pay. Find customers by going door-to-door.
13. Learn WordPress, then offer to install plugins and upgrade it.

I hired David from Web Geek 4 Hire to upgrade my blogs and install new WordPress plugins. He charges $5 to upgrade a plugin…great for him, since most plugins only take a few minutes to upgrade, and great for me, since if anything breaks, David gets to clean up the mess! You can make this a full time position; there is a ton of demand for these services. Find customers by contacting bloggers directly. Get references from bloggers who understand the value of outsourcing these tasks.
14. Become the go-to person for installations of a particular piece of software.

Anything from Amember to Quickbooks is fair game here. In the hosting industry, iDevAffiliate and Plesk Billing were the pieces of software we would have paid a lot of money to have someone else deal with. The more niche and more complex/annoying/frustrating the software, the better! Even if the software company offers free installation, you can make hundreds or thousands of dollars training business owners or their employees on its usage. Focus on one piece of software and become the trusted expert. Create videos and tutorials using screencast software like Camtasia to increase your profitability; this may also lead into a niche product that you can sell. (Amember offers “free installation”, but it took my boyfriend and I over 10 hours to configure it properly. That’s definitely something I would outsource next time!)
15. Interview other people and sell the interviews.

I experimented with this in 2008 and made over $800 from one interview. The key here is to understand a pain point that people are experiencing, interview an expert, and ask the expert the questions that the people experiencing the problem are having. Then create a small website and sell the interview. There’s more to this, including having good copywriting skills so your website sells the interview well, and knowing where to advertise, so don’t expect to immediately pull in hundreds of dollars. That said, it’s a neat way to quickly create a product. Get the interviews transcribed, then string a few interviews in the same industry together as a membership site or bundle that you can sell for more money.
16. Become a freelance “web geek.”

From configuring a shopping cart to installing and tweaking blog themes, there are virtually unlimited projects out there for geeks who enjoy working with small business owners to get them up and running online. Find people looking for web geeks on the Warrior Forum or other places where entrepreneurs gather.
17. Enter logo and design contests.

Fancy yourself a good designer? Try your hand at creating a logo or other design that a company loves! 99 Designs is the most popular marketplace. Beware, however; you won’t get paid unless your logo wins against many others, which makes many designers unhappy. In my opinion, this is a great way for a budding designer to build a portfolio and learn quickly what clients love.
18. Create Twitter backgrounds and e-covers.

Competition is stiff, but if you are a savvy designer, this is a good way to pick up extra dollars. Even better, if you are an artist, this is a good way to make your art skills pay off. Consider that every design will need to have a reason why the customer should buy the book or follow that person on Twitter to have a real impact. Twitter backgrounds, in particular, are in hot demand right now. For measurements and caveats of Twitter backgrounds, read “How to create your own Twitter background.”
19. Submit websites or blog posts to social media websites.

Not very exciting work, but in high demand from bloggers and small businesses. This involves setting up accounts on all of the social bookmarking services and then bookmarking your clients’ websites or latest blog posts to help them get more traffic. You may be competing against software that does this, but in many folks’ opinions, it’s better to have a real person do it. Even better is if you can goose your accounts with plenty of friends and become a star on a few of the services; then every site you bookmark has higher credibility and you can charge more. To get an idea of the social media sites you will need to sign up for, start at socialmarker.com.
20. Edit audio for others.

This is something that is fairly easy to learn and also in high demand. On Windows, one good program to edit audio is Sony Sound Forge. I use Sound Forge Audio Studio, but if you are doing this professionally, you might consider the upgrade to Sound Forge 9. Get the hang of editing out “um”s and “ah”s from audio. Even better is understanding the “flow” of an interview conversation and editing out portions that don’t make sense. Finally, learning to find and add intro music really gives podcasts that professional touch. Advertise your services on oDesk or eLance. I pay people to do this for the podcasts I am setting up on Inspiring Innovators, and it’s a job that can definitely be done from your house.

Beginners Guide to Making Money with click bank

This is yet another guide to help you make money with clickbank. I saw many different guides floating around the internet and there was a good deal of variety of strategies to make money with clickbank.

Through trials and errors, I too have my own techniques and strategies for succeeding with clickbank. However, with the variations in the inernet marketing industry, I have changed my strategy from time to time.

My own strategy isn’t really unique, but it’s a nice mix of different techniques. Clickbank, for me, has been the best service to make money promoting digital products. But, before I get into detail:

What is Clickbank and how does it work?

If you’re new to this, you might be thinking what Clickbank is. But don’t worry, it’s nothing scary or too complicated. It’s just a simple platform to connect Vendors (People that make the product) and Publishers (People that promote and drive sales to the product).

When the publishers promote the vendor’s product and drive in a sale, the vendor pays a commission to the publisher as a reward. It’s pretty simple: The product is ready, the sales page is also ready and all you have to do is promote the product with your own promotion link.

Commissions usually range from 50-75%, which means that you’re making more money than the vendor makes on that particular sale. Some products have recurring fees for which you’ll be able to make a recurring commission.

You can use Clickbank’s Analytics service to check how many visitors you’re sending to the sales pages of the products and you can analyse other important data over there to find out what’s working and what’s not.
How to start off making money with Clickbank?

It’s really just a 5-step process:

Register at Clickbank.com
Login and go to the ‘Marketplace’.
Browse between categories to find the product that you want to promote.
Create your hoplink for that specific product.
Promote that hoplink and drive sales.
It’s all easy until Step 5. Promoting the hoplink and getting visitors is a tough task. Getting sales from those visitors is an even tougher task. Although, the vendors do a great job in creating a well converting sales page, it’s still hard to get a sale done if it’s a random visitor.

So, you need to get targeted visitors to your hoplink in order to drive interested people to the sales page that might actually end up purchasing. There are many ways to get targeted visitors.

How should I promote my hoplink?

Below is a list of ways you can promote your hoplink to drive targeted visitors to the sales page:

Use social media: Facebook, Youtube and Twitter are one of the most effective tools for driving sales through Clickbank. The bigger your friends list at Facebook or the number of your followers at Twitter are, the better chance you have driving sales. It’s a good idea to find out the interests of people (not friends ) and then try to market the product to them. You can make use of facebook pages and the information boxes of youtube videos to promote your hoplink and receive targeted traffic.
Use a blog: Some time ago, I wrote a guide on how you can setup your blog and make money with it. By using your existing blog (or creating a new one), you can put promotional banners of related clickbank products on your blog with your hoplink. This is also quite an effective method as it requires less work of promotion if you’re already running a blog that receives visitors. Even if it doesn’t, now you can promote your blog instead of promoting the hoplink to build a little trust on the visitor to increase your chances of making the sale.
Promote to a mailing list: You can build a mailing list by creating a splash page to get your visitor’s email addresses and then later emailing them your promotional links to make the sale.
Advertise on websites: You can also purchase targeted traffic through Google, Facebook and other similar websites. You’ll have to pay a set price per visitor
The promotional techniques consist of, but are not limited to, the methods listed above. You can use your creativity to drive traffic and sales through other methods. Unleash your inner sales man and promote your link all over the territory.

Now that the Clickbank guide is in front of you, it’s about time you get to work. Sign up with Clickbank now and start promoting products. The sooner you start, the more you’ll learn; and the more you learn, the sooner you’ll start making money. Best of luck!

Keyword Internet Search Engine Ranking

I have listed a few of the ways that you could get a higher keyword internet search engine ranking.

Ways to get High Keyword Internet Search Engine Ranking

How can you obtain a top keyword internet search engine ranking? You will find various things which go into this but among the primary contributing factors for your success is to get as many incoming links aimed at your website for that key phrases that you’re focusing on. If you’re just starting out with a brand new website, you must do some investigation before beginning to ensure that you are able to know what you need to make your website. The very first factor you need to research would be the key phrases themselves. This can be done free of charge in the Pay Per Click Keyword Resarch tool. Simply enter in the primary idea of your company and website and find out what pops up. This free tool will highlight the precise words that individuals are typing in when searching whatever service or product you’re offering.

You need to choose one of these simple key phrases to make use of within the title of the site. And much more research ought to be done about the validity of this keyword. You should use other free tools like WordTracker and also the MSN commercial intent tool to obtain more details about simply how many visitors are being produced for that key phrase that you’re examining and when the keyword offers commercial potential or otherwise.

Once you have recognized a great keyword for the site, one that’s both relevant, while offering enough traffic, register the title of the site with GoDaddy, NameCheap, or the other domain selling sites. For those who have selected an extremely general keyword, you will have to give a word or two to be able to obtain the domain title. For instance, if your internet site is about Bird Cages, the domain BirdCages.com will not really be accessible, so you will have to choose a title like BuyBirdCages.com, or BestBirdCages.com, etc.

Once you have your key phrases and title determined, start developing this content of the site with those key phrases you have investigated which people are looking for. After you have some content up, you can submit your website to the internet search engine sites to begin with some back links that will lift up your keyword internet search engine ranking. To submit your website, just include the name, a brief description (making use of your primary keyword) and also the url, and put it in the right group of the internet search engine. You are able to submit your website to the major search engines like google, the minor search engines, and niche-related search engines that have to do with your website.

Next, you are able to post comments, including a hyperlink to your website, on blogs and forums inside your industry. Also start book-marking your website at a few of the various book-marking sites like Digg, StumbleUpon, etc. It may also help to create articles including your key phrases and link it well for your site, and also to publish them on sites like Hubpages.com, Squidoo.com, and EzineArticles.com.

How to Earn Money through a Website

Make money with sites that not only. But requires very little initial investment. But depending on what you want to be able to focus on more profitable business as well. From affiliate marketing to blogging to actually sell your product or even the use of ads on your site even begin to have less experience, no one can make money with this site if they need to. Just follow the simple instructions.

For starters, affiliate marketing may be a good way to get started with making money online. With your own website you can see where your audience is coming from directly testing new strategies to encourage potential customers to buy new products you’re marketing.

Affiliate marketing is when you market someone else’s product and receive a percentage of commissions in return for directing customers to another’s site. Depending on your niche, this can be quite lucrative. It will require some research to determine the best topics to work on, but regardless, it can be easy to leave links in your articles or even go so far as to have your own online store of goods you are affiliated with.

Blogs are another easy way to make money with your website, because once you establish that opens more opportunities to dip into other income streams Given the propensity of other blogs out. Today, it is the need to create a unique angle that will attract the most readers and advertisers. Top bloggers by several thousand per month from advertisers paying them out of the ads on their blogs as millions of their readers might click on. Advertisers like it because they have already targeted the business for them, they just need mechanisms to get traffic to their Web site.

You can also create a simple website based on content that offers visitors information about a particular subject they are looking for. Then, when you get traffic to your site, you can make money from it by promoting the affiliate program or by placing ads on your site. (Like advertising on this site), then every time someone clicks on the ads on your site, you will get paid for it. Then you have to work on to more traffic. More traffic = more clicks = more money.

Selling products through a website can also make you a healthy profit, because this gives you access to an entire network of internet users all over the world, not just customers who live in your area. Info-products are still making money, albeit not as much as they used to. But these are easy because they cost very little to make and it doesn’t take much effort to market them if your audience is there and possibly willing to purchase them.

Sales data means that you only provide information that is privileged group of people willing to pay for access to this information. This will take the form of e – books, newsletters or reports. All you need is a Web site, quality products and good advertising copy that will have customers buying a row.

Have your own website is very useful in promoting the business of your other business such as writing or freelance consulting.

This is great in many ways because:

This means you are (hopefully) very knowledgeable about the services you provide and can offer great insight on them to your readers and
Writing articles on this subject matter can reel in not only loyal readers but potential clients as well. For example, if you are a small business consultant writing about marketing tactics, this could interest a business owner looking for further help with their own practice and encourage them to contact you in regards to further services. Offering free reading material is more valuable than most people realize, because it usually leads to actual paying customers.

Whichever way you choose to make money out of your website it’s easy to see why some of the most successful people and companies in the world are building their own websites.

Make Money Fast

Banners
They were one of the first ways of making money from hobby Web sites, however they are not so popular now since most surfers don't even look at them. In fact, the click-through rate (the percentage of visitors who actually click on a banner) has steadily dropped, from around 5% 4 years ago to less than 0.5% now.

In the Traffic-Building volume of the free ebook describing all possible ways of making money on the Internet), banners are called #1 "Time and Money Wasters Save yourself months of poorly spent time. Read this essential manual first.

If you have highly relevant, cleverly designed banners, you can beat the odds. However, you need relatively high traffic to actually make more than pocket change. In fact, most banner advertising companies prefer to only pay for actual sales (even click throughs are no longer attractive, since many people click through because they are paid to, and not because they intend to buy anything).

Freebies
Under this category are things such as free lotto tickets and various games where you can win prizes. Often, these are implemented as pop-ups and are much more annoying than banners.

Affiliate programs
They pay you a percentage of the sales you generate for them, or for each visitor you send. This is one of the best ways of making money on the Internet. You don't have to spend time and energy creating your own product. And some of them pay 50% commission. for more information on building income from affiliate programs.

Google AdSense
This is one of the easiest ways of making money on the Internet for small and medium sites by displaying relevant, text-based ads from Google AdWords (Google's own advertising program) and receiving a share of the pay-per-click payment.

Other tools
There are many tools that can help you make some pretty big commissions without your visitors even realizing that you're building income from their visits.

For example, several search engines will pay you a few cents per search made from your Web site. If a few hundred people use your search box, you'll earn a few dollars a day - not bad for a few minutes of cut & paste a small line of code within the HTML of your Web page.

Selling a Product or Service
This is an obvious way of making money on the Internet. To succeed in it, you have to succeed at three points...

Develop a great product that is of interest to others on the Web.
Write a professional Web site designed to sell.
Attract targeted customers to the site.

Google Adsense

Google AdSense is the Google program where you can host pay-per-click ads on your Website. When someone clicks an ad, you earn money. Simple as that.

Is it really as easy to make money with Google AdSense as many would lead you to believe? Now that I've become heavily involved with managing Google AdSense programs for my clients, I can see it's not all play and no work.

Unfortunately, a lot of people bought into the idea that there was a lot of easy money to be made and they are now finding out they aren't making nearly as much as they thought they would. Additionally, Google has a lot of prohibited practices when it comes to AdSense, and too many Webmasters are finding out they violated Google's policies after the fact - often because they never bothered to read the AdSense policiesin the first place.

Webmasters must not only comply with AdSense policies, but their Websites must also comply with

Infolinks : A profitable combination for your website or blog

It is a very common saying that “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket” and so is true for choosing online advertising networks. Every webmaster should try to maximize its online revenue either by adding new source to it or increase the income of existing source. Most of webmasters or bloggers use Google Adsense as their primary source of income besides affiliate revenue if any.
I was searching for some better adnetwork for my blogs which I can use along with Google adsense without affecting the adsense  CTR and income, and I found one in the shape of Infolinks. I have been using Infolinks Ads in my blog for more than two weeks  now. I must say it was a wise decision to join Infolinks adnetwork. I used some other networks as well like adbrite, bidvertiser etc but neither of them worked better than Infolinks.
I’ve been planning this Infolinks review eversince I joined but I was waiting to see the results. Although two weeks are not enough time to measure the actual results but so far I’ve been very satisfied with Infolinks and this review will hopefully help more bloggers and webmasters decide whether this advertising program is suitable for your online business or not.
The best part about Infolinks is that they don’t have any specific criteria to apply.  Comparatively it has good click through rates and also their script is super fast.
It is also important to note that their ads can be shown along with Google Adsensewhich means that you can get more money without sacrificing any Adsense Income.
What is Infolinks?
It’s a in-text advertising program which usually shows as a double-underlined link.
Here’s how it works (from their FAQ):
Using our dynamic proprietary algorithm, Infolinks intelligently scans your web pages and converts carefully selected keywords into cost-per-click (CPC) In-Text ads. These specially formatted double underline hyperlinks lead to highly relevant advertiser content.
And each time a visitor clicks on the ad, the publisher gets paid. The Infolinksadvertising can also be used together with Google Adsense and Chitika on the same page.
Customization
The ads are totally customizable and you can test various combos to see what works for you.
You can change underlining (single or double underline), the color of the in-text links, the format of the ad that shows up when someone holds the cursor over the links, how many ads you want to show on each page and even where on page you want the ads to start appearing and where to stop appearing.
Infolinks by default shows 12 ads per page and if you use Adsense or Chitika too, then I suggest you lower the number of in-text links per page so that your pages don’t scare your visitors away with too many ads.
I also suggest, that when you sign up with Infolinks, let them run for a week or so and then email their support asking for better optimization. Their team will check the theme of your site and optimize the ads.

Earning and Payments

Infolinks offers several convenient ways for publishers to receive payments. You can choose your preferred method:
PayPal, Bank Wire, ACH (Only for U.S. bank accounts) or Get your Infolinks Prepaid Mastercard® (Powered by Payoneer).
You can apply to get an Infolinks Prepaid Debit MasterCard® to load your earnings and use it anywhere MasterCard® is accepted. Choosing this payment form will link you to a new page to register for your card. Once a cardholder, you can manage your account by simply logging onto the Payoneer website.
Payment is sent 45 days after the earnings period. Here’s a detailed explanation from the Infolinks:
Every month! At the end of each monthly payment period, Infolinks calculates your earnings for that month and issues your payment within 45 days of the end of the payment period, as a standard industry practice.
The only exception should occur if your monthly earnings are less than the Infolinks payment threshold. The minimum threshold is $50. But don’t worry – if your earnings are less than that threshold at the end of the month, these funds will be carried over to the next month.
